Gate Update

Over the past couple of months, the Clubhouse and Grounds Committee has been working diligently on the Gates Project. The Goals are to:

1. Provide reliable automatic gate infrastructure

2. Modernize to the latest safety standards and codes

3. Deliver a solution while being mindful of project cost

The existing gate infrastructure has been in place for approximately 18 years (end of useful life). Earlier this year the committee contracted with a third-party vendor to provide a comprehensive evaluation of what is required to meet the above objectives. It was determined that replacement of almost all components including the underground conduit and cabling is required. Since then, the committee has:

• Solicited three (3) vendors to provide competitive bids 

• Met with each vendor

• Walked the property with General Contractors

• Reviewed quotes and statements of work

Next steps are to:

• Make a recommendation to the full Board as to which vendor to choose and why

• Provide the finalized quotes to the Finance Committee

• Provide proposed contracts and Statements of Work to legal

• Create a timeline for project completion

• Communicate any potential impact with the community

The process to date has taken much longer than expected, but the goal is to kick the project off this summer and have everything completed before year-end. We will keep you updated as things continue to progress.
